Profile

Julia Vaz

I’m a journalist covering the social impacts and science behind climate change. My passion is using multimedia and storytelling to make climate change stories accessible and personal. I was most recently a reporting intern at New Hampshire Public Radio where I covered climate and environment for the By Degrees team.

You can also find my work at AP News, The Washington Post, MIT Technology Review, Science Friday, Heatmap News and Inside Climate News.

I graduated from Brown University in 2025 with degrees in Political Science and Modern Culture & Media. While at Brown, I was Managing Editor of Newsroom and Vice President of The Brown Daily Herald. Right now, I’m at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology pursuing a graduate degree in Science Writing.
